Creative Ways to Use Branded Stickers in Marketing

Stickers are the cheapest branded item you can buy and almost nobody uses them properly. Most businesses order a box, put them in a drawer, and hand out three.

Here is what to do with them instead.

SEAL YOUR PACKAGING WITH THEM

A plain box or bag closed with a branded sticker instantly looks like it came from a real business. It costs cents and it is the first thing your customer touches.

This is the single highest return use of a sticker, and it is the one most often overlooked.

TURN YOUR EQUIPMENT INTO SIGNAGE

Toolboxes, ladders, trolleys, laptops, crates and site equipment. If you work at client premises, every piece of branded kit is quietly telling everyone who walks past who is doing the work.

USE THEM AS A LOW COST LABEL SYSTEM

Price stickers, batch stickers, best before labels, promotional flashes over existing packaging. Short digital runs mean you can print exactly what a single promotion needs.

PUT THEM IN EVERY PARCEL

A sheet of a few good stickers in an order costs very little and gets kept. Customers put them on laptops, water bottles and school books, and your brand travels with them.

This only works if the sticker is something somebody would choose to display. A plain logo rarely is. An illustration, a phrase or a design people like absolutely is.

WINDOW AND FLOOR GRAPHICS

Large format vinyl stickers turn a plain window into a shopfront, with your hours, your services and your logo. Floor stickers direct people and work well at events.

See our signage page for the larger applications.

GIVE THEM OUT AT EVENTS, BUT MAKE THEM WORTH TAKING

Stickers are one of the few giveaway items children genuinely want, which makes them excellent at family events and markets. Adults take them too, if the design is good.

Pair them with your event setup and they become the thing people carry away.

SOME IDEAS THAT WORK PARTICULARLY WELL

  • A sticker on invoices or quotes, so a routine document feels considered
  • A “serviced by” or “installed by” sticker left behind on the work, with your number on it
  • Numbered or dated stickers for maintenance schedules, which keeps you in mind at the right moment
  • A sticker that says thank you, included with every order
  • A set of several designs, which turns giveaways into something people collect
  • Reusable static cling stickers for car windows, which do not leave residue

DESIGN RULES THAT MATTER

  • Die cut to a custom shape if you can, because it costs little and looks far better
  • Keep it simple enough to read at the size it will actually be
  • Vinyl with laminate for anything that will live outdoors or get handled
  • Think about whether someone would put it on their own laptop, which is a good test of the design

THE POINT

Stickers work because people apply them voluntarily to things they own. Very little marketing gets that kind of permission.
